Match Play & Valero Texas Open Schribe-Tribe member JJ Spaun took another career step forward this past weekend at the World Golf Championship Dell Computers Match Play Tournament on the PGA Tour in Austin, TX. JJ qualified for the elite, limited field Match Play for the first time in his career. He was seeded #62 out of 64 players (seedings reflect performance on Tour and World rankings). We are all either improving or doing the other. What are you going to do today?! Adam and I are hunkering down only 1 hour from Scottsdale. We found a killer place – Canyon Lake! I had acupuncture and saw a doggy chiropractor today. Both Adam and I are healing this off season. We have been exploring area lakes, rivers and of course the mountains and beautiful Sedona. I am in Arizona, helping my clients prepare for the Tour’s West Coast Swing. The pre-Christmas Midwest “bomb cyclone”, snow, and bitter cold reminds us all of Polar Vortex years. Adam joined the team reviving High Pointe Golf Club, Tom Doak’s legendary first solo design in Traverse City, MI. High Pointe was a public course that earned Top 100 Ranking by Golf Magazine 1993-99. Unfortunately HPGC was a victim of the 2008-09 Great Recession, closed its doors, and the property was sold, with the front 9 used in a hops farm. The back 9 lay in-tact but unused for several years.
